Tribune Tower — Chicago, Illinois

After riding to Michigan Avenue on the Water Taxi, we walked around three sides of the Tribune Tower. Over the years, more than 130 pieces of famous sites and buildings have been embedded in the exterior walls. Below or next to each piece, the origin has been engraved.

There are pieces from each state, from several major battlefields, from a few Presidents’ houses and from famous international sites such as the Pyramids, the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, the Berlin Wall, etc.

Nathan Hale Statue (1940) in front of Tribune Tower.

I checked to see what Nathan has been looking at for the past 67 years. It’s a Starbucks.
