Barrington, Illinois — Crabtree Nature Center

After a morning of cold birding, we dropped Sally and Diana Ferrell off at Woodfield to do some shopping.  Dave and Larry Wightman and I went back to Crabtree. This time my dedication paid off.  A couple of new species had shown up.  The Redheads were swimming and diving in Crabtree Lake in the open area in front of the blind.

A whole bunch of people can say they have been birding, thanks to me.  At one time or another, I’ve gone with Diana Ferrell, Dave and Larry Wightman, Philip, Jonathan and Art, Ken and Linda, Kelli and Steve, Pat and Melanie Rice, Karl Jackson, Pat Texidor, Jim Matheson, Mark Seymour and Tim Rathjen.  Several of these people have even started life lists.  Only Tim has continued for more than a year or two.
