Bird #121 — House Wren

Barrington, Illinois — Crabtree Nature Center

I spotted this bird foraging actively in the bushes and vine tangle along the dam at the end of Bulrush Pond.  It was hopping along the ground and in the bushes, chipping as it went.  It came within four feet of where I stood. I remember that this was the first House Wren seen at Crabtree this year.
