Mystic, Connecticut — Mystic Seaport — Mystic River

We spent this morning at Mystic Seaport.  We visited the whaling ship, Charles W. Morgan, and I wandered around the deck taking video and enjoying the scenery.  I knew I had a good chance of seeing this gull on the trip and was watching for it.

I spotted two Great Black-backed Gulls out on the river. One was flying over the water, circling about 30 feet above the surface. The other one was swimming near the center of the river channel. Later in the morning I got a better look at one as it sat on a buoy where I had earlier seen a Double-crested Cormorant.
