Not too long after Larry Wightman and I saw my lifer Ruby-crowned Kinglet, it began to rain.  We holed up in the blind on Bulrush Pond and waited for it to stop.  Larry finally gave up and went home.  I decided to wait it out.  It finally let up a little and I ventured forth.  Not too far from the blind, I spotted this Red-bellied Woodpecker.  It was tapping high in a tree in the woods between the pond and the trail.  It remained there for a few minutes then took off.  It landed on one of the dead tree trunks in the swampy end of the pond.
