Grant’s House — Galena, Illinois

When Grant first moved to Galena, he and his family rented this house from a Lutheran church. It’s a private residence now and is identified only by small plaque in the front window.

To get there, we had to walk up the high-school steps, a long, long flight that leads up from Main Street to the top of the ridge.
