| Notes: | The Calculus Affair is Herge’s commentary on the Cold War. Bordurian and Syldavian agents try to kidnap Professor Calculus in order to steal his plans for a secret weapon, which will make the owners masters of the world. Tintin and Captain Haddock travel to Switzerland to search for the missing Professor. COMMENTS — Although they are “comic books,” The Adventures of Tintin were meticulously researched by Herge. He traveled around Switzerland sketching actual buildings for this story, and several of them are recognizable (if you know what they look like). This is considered the best of the 21 Adventures of Tintin now available. It can be found as one of three stories in Adventures of Tintin Volume 6. |
