Reviews for Half Magic
Review - Half Magic
Four siblings find a magic coin that gives them half of what they wish for. After some early mishaps — being kidnapped in the desert and almost destroying Camelot — the coin helps their widowed mother fall in love with Mr. Smith. The coin’s power runs out — for them — and they pass it on to another child.
The premise is clever, and the writing is pretty clever too, but after a while the author runs out of clever ways to do things by halves. Still, it's a cute book that I imagine pre-teens would enjoy.
