Too many passages about insider real-estate deals, too many descriptions of people living sorry lives and too many pages of people lusting after other people's spouses. I couldn't keep most of the people straight and didn't care what happened to any of them. The only heroes were the few who saw the danger and try to warn others, but even they had serious flaws. The description of the storm itself was interesting and scary, but that was only about 40 pages long.
