| Notes: | This book continues the history begun in Berton's The Invasion of Canada. The Canada-U.S. border was in flames as tensions between the two countries flared. York's parliament buildings were on fire, Niagara-on-the-Lake burned to the ground, Buffalo was in ashes and Washington was put to the torch. The War of 18112 saw one of the nineteenth century's bloodiest struggles, and Berton brings the events to life in full color and vivid drama. |
