Notes: The follow-up to the author's Crowdie and Cream. Review - Crotal and White

Like the first one, this book sort of ambles along and manages to be very interesting. Macdonald's family were Highlanders, the last generation living before technology reached them. He was a bright boy who loved to read, and this memoir ends with him getting a bursary (scholarship) and leaving the village for school on the north end of Harris.
