Review - Colorado 1870-2000
The photos of cities and towns were interesting—how some of them (Denver, Colorado Springs) have gotten much bigger while others (Cripple Creek) are now much smaller than in their mining heyday. Some mining towns have disappeared altogether. The landscape photos were less interesting because the photos looked almost identical except that the contemporary one was in color. There were a few where lakes had been created in valleys. Throughout the book, there were essays on the history of the photographers and the state, but these were dull and I skipped most of them.
