The first two years of Li'l Abner comic strips. About half the strips take place in New York where Abner's aunt is trying to make a gentleman of him. The rest take place in Dogpatch, where Daisy Mae pines for Abner and he loves her back but "thinks' he doesn't like girls.

Review - Li'l Abner: Volume 1

I read Li'l Abner when I was a kid and, in retrospect, think I was more into the art than the stories. This was just the same joke over and over—dumb hill billy chased by some scheming woman or getting into some other stupid jam and then escaping at the last minute. This book is just two years out of 43. I usually like to finish things, but this is too tedious.
