Notes:One night, orphan Sophie is grabbed out of her bed by a giant and taken to his cave. She learns that he is the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) who gives children dreams. She also learns that there are nine other giants who go forth every night and eat children. Sophie hatches a plan to stop them. She has the BFG take her to the Queen of England and tell her what is happening in a dream. The BFG leads the army and air force to the nine giants who are captured while sleeping and put in a big hole. The BFG and Sophie live in the queens garden and become heroes.

Review - BFG, The

Dahl filled the book with silly words. If he had used them sparingly from time to time, it might have been clever. But he used them constantly and they became tiresome. The story was OK.
