Notes:Eli and Charlie Sisters are paid assassins working for the Commodore. Their current task is to go to the gold fields of California to meet with the Commodore's agent, Morris, who will direct them to a prospector named Warm. Warm had developed a solution that makes gold glow and easy to find. On their journey, the brothers—particularly Eli—have various adventures that leads them to question their line of work. They find that Morris has joined Warm, and they decide to do so also. The solution is caustic. Morris and Warm fall in the river and die. Charlies gets it on his gun hand, which rots and has to be cut off. The brothers return to the Commodore. Eli kills him, and then he and Charlie return to their mother's house.

Review - Sisters Brothers, The

Rather compelling, although dark, morbid, and violent. It was supposed to be darkly funny, but I didn't find it so. I suppose I rooted a bit for Eli, but not much.
