Interesting story with tons of plot holes and too much poking fun of government agencies, which made it boring. It would have been better as a short story.

| Notes: | Armed Services Edition Tongue-in-cheek apocalyptic novel about a nuclear accident that sterilizes every man on earth except Homer Adam, who happened to be deep underground in a lead mine. Reporter Steve Smith breaks the story and is assigned to keep watch on Homer until the government can institute an artificial insemination system. But in the meantime, Homer meets a beautiful actress and falls in love. He runs away with her. Steve, and the FBI, track them down. Steve exposes the truth—the actress didn't care for Homer, she just wanted to use him to create a master race of scientists. Homer is disillusioned an sterilized himself, seemingly destroying the future of mankind. But meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, Steve's wife Madge has been giving him a trial potion to restore his ability to father children. The potion works and Steve is surprised to discover his wife is pregnant. And life goes on as normal. |
