Apparently there's a British TV show in which two old guys, both of whom had close calls with death because of their hearts, go fishing together. One of them is a long-time fisherman who knows what he's doing, and he rags on the other one who is new to the sport. This book was obviously published to appeal to those who watch the show. It gives a bit of their history and how they got started, explains different kinds of fishing, several of the more popular fish, and different baits, etc.

Review - Mortimer & Whitehouse (at home)

I bought it because I'd read that it was supposed to be terribly funny. It wasn't. Having never seen the show, I never really got into it. I only finished because it was a quick read, it got mildly interesting in a few spots — describing the various fish, giving the history of fly-tying — and because I'd spent money on it.
