Reviews for The Golden Sabre
Review - Golden Sabre, The (ordered)
It would have been a better book without all the unnecessary foul language and the descriptions of all the perverts they met.

| Notes: | American engineer Matthew Cabell finds himself in trouble in Russia, stuck between the Red and White armies. Eden Penfold is an English governess to two Russian aristocrat children, Frederick and Olga. Cabell happens along as a Russian general is attempting to rape Eden. He kills the general just as his soldiers arrive. Cabell, Eden, the children, and a servant take off in a Rolls Royce, hoping to drive across Russia to find the children's parents. They are chased by Pemenov, a dwarf who seeks revenge on Cabell for the killed general. Along the way, the group is captured at one time or another by Reds, Whites, and mountain tribesmen. Pemenov makes attempts to kill Cabell. The group joins a caravan of Jewish refugees for part of the journey. Finally, they find themselves in the middle of a battle between the tribesmen and a White army. The children's father is an officer in the army, and they are finally safe. Pemenov then shows up and tries to kill Cabell again, killing the servant instead. Cabell kills him with a sabre. He and Eden marry and move to America. |
