Reviews for Pride and Prejudice
Review - Pride and Prejudice
I thought this version was excellent. It was short, without all the filler thrown into the made-for-TV mini-series. It captured the mood and look of the time in which it was set. The cast was great — Donald Sutherland was fantastic as Mr. Bennett; Rosamund Pike was convincing as Jane (once I figured out where I'd seen her before — as the villian's mistress in the James Bond film Die Another Day) and Judi Dench made a truly sinister Lady Catherine de Bourg. Most importanly, Keira Knightley was an Elizabeth that you could actually believe Darcy would lower his expectations to marry.
