Description:Capt. Christopher Holden (Gary Cooper) is an Indian fighter at the time of Pontiac's rebellion. Martin Garth (Howard Da Silva) is a trader who sells weapons to the Indians. The two men are opposed in another way — both of them are attracted to Abigail 'Abby' Martha Hale (Paulette Goddard), an indentured servant. Garth keeps getting possession of Abby, only to lose her once again to Holden. It all comes to a head at Fort Pitt as Garth's Indians attack the fort and Holden arrives with a relief column just in time. The two men face off over Abby, and Garth is killed. Holden and Abby get married.

Boris Karloff plays an Indian, Chief Guyasuta. Ward Bond is Holden's friend, John Fraser.

Review - Unconquered

It was an impressive movie, if a bit silly at times. The politics were easy to figure out — White Americans good, Indians bad, British incompetent.

Cooper is pretty good in his role, if half-asleep at times. Goddard, playing a woman who constantly stumbles from one peril to another, seems too old for her role.

But still somehow, it was fun to watch.
