A renegade Russian general, Kodoroff, steals nine nuclear warheads slated for dismantling, disguising his theft by igniting one of them on a train. U.S. security chief Julia Kelly and her military liaison Col. Devoe figure out what’s happening and track the Russian to the Iranian border, taking out the truck and capturing the bombs. But one is missing. They figure out that Dusan Gavrich, a Bosnian, is taking it to NYC to blow up the UN for meddling in his country. Devoe and Kelly organize a search and find the man holed up in a church. Gavrich kills himself and Kelly blows up the outer casing to prevent the nuclear bomb from going off.

Not big on plot, but with a lot of action and likeable characters. Clooney playes himself. Kidman plays Kelly as smart, courageous but vulnerable. I enjoyed it, but won’t remember it long.
