Description:Originally released in France as La Fille de d'Artagnan.

A French movies with English subtitles. D’Artagnan’s daughter, Eloise has been raised in a convent. An escaping slave takes refuge in the convent. The Duke of Crassac, who owned the slave, has his men search the convent and take the slave. The Mother Superior stands in their way and gets killed. Eloise swears revenge. She finds a blood-stained laundry list that she mistakes for a secret document. She goes to Paris to find her father, the famous Musketeer. On the way she meets the poet Quentin who immediately falls in love with her.

D’Artagnan has quit the Musketeers and lives in poverty. He doesn’t want to get involved with Eloise’s revenge, so he locks her up. She escapes and goes to see the king. Mazarin, the king’s advisor is convinced that she has uncovered a conspiracy, but when she overhears him threatening Quentin, she runs off. Finally D’Artagnan agrees to help her. He rounds up two of his old companions, Porthos and Aramis. The three are old men now and grunt and grumble a lot on the journey.

When they arrive at the convent, it is empty. Crassac (who really is hatching a plot to kill the king) has taken the nuns as slaves to cover his crime. Eloise is taken prisoner. The Musketeers arrive in time to save the nuns and set off to rescue Eloise and save the king. Quentin follows. There’s a big fight, Eloise kills Crassac, the plot is foiled, the king is crowned and the Musketeers are returned to favor.

Cute. Sophie Marceau was charming and the old Musketeers were humorous, but the movie never achieved laugh-out-loud proportions and the fight scenes with the old men were just silly and unconvincing.

I suspect I missed a lot of the humor that didn't come through on the subtitles.
