Feminist TV producer Joanna Eberhart gets fired and goes into shock. Her husband Walter moves the family to Stepford. They soon notice that something is weird about the town. The women all seem like robots who live only to serve their husbands. They are always perky and ready to fulfill their every desire. Walter thinks he wants this for himself, so he talks with Mike, who runs the place. Mike offers to implant the chips in Joanna’s brain that will turn her into a robot, but Mike decides he loves Joanna too much. Joanna pretends to be changed and distracts Mike while Walter finds the control room and deprograms all the other wives. When Mike threatens to attack Walter, Joanna hits him with a candlestick. Mike’s head falls off. It turns out he is a robot controlled by his brain-surgeon wife, Claire, who was really in charge of everything.
