Review - Tammy and the Bachelor
Tammy lives in the swamp with her grandpa. When the two rescue Peter, a pilot whose plane crashed in the river, Tammy falls in love with him. When Grandpa is arrested for moonshining, Tammy walks to Peter’s house. Peter lives with his aunt in a large southern plantation and plans on growing tomatos to make the house self-sufficient. His parents are there to arrange for the annual heritage days showing of the house. Peter’s fiancée Barbara is also there, but she and Peter argue quite a bit. Everyone is enchanted by Tammy whose homespun intelligence and forthrightness is refreshing. By the end of the movie, Aunt Renie has decided to move to New Orleans and be a painter, Peter’s uptight mother has loosened up and Peter has decided to marry Tammy.
Cute, occasionally funny and way-too-sweet. I gave it a 6, mostly because it was fun to make fun of. Sal’s parents said they remember seeing it on a double date.
