Hardy’s novel in a made-for-TV version that Kelli has been urging me to watch. It was well done, and I liked the characters and settings. I think I like to Hollywood version with Natasia Kinski better, because she seemed somehow more likely to fall into Tess’s difficulties. Justine Waddell in this version came across as a bit too together and competent.
