Reviews for What Women Want
Review - What Women Want
Brief Synopsis: Nick is a hotshot ad executive who thinks he’s up for a promotion. Instead, his boss hires Darcy, a woman from another company, to target the women’s market. While trying on women’s products in his bathroom, Nick gets an electric shock which gives him the ability to hear women’s thoughts. He parlays this into popularity and even manages to reconnect with his alienated teenage daughter. He also uses his new skill to steal Darcy’s thoughts and create a great new idea for a commercial. Darcy is fired, but Nick has fallen in love with her, so he confesses and tells her she has her job back. She fires him, but relents, and they kiss.
What I liked about it: Had some cute moments, and the main characters were likeable.
What I didn’t like about it: Nick’s daughter’s attitude, which Nick allowed. And the entire movie had a goofy feel that probably resulted from being directed by a woman. Mel Gibson overacted through most of it, probably for the same reason.
