| Description: | Abby (Brittany Murphy) moves to Tokyo to be with her boyfriend. When he dumps her, she's left lonely and lost. She goes to a raman restaurant one evening and decides she wants to be a raman chef. She bugs the owner of the restaurant to be her teacher. He doesn't want to be, and they don't understand each other, but she won't leave. Months go by. Abby meets a Japanese guy and they fall for each other, but he has to go to Singapore on business. Finally the Master Chef comes to see if Abby is ready. He says her ramen is very good, but too non-traditional. He doesn't give his blessing. Her teacher retires from the business, but tells Abby she's to carry on the tradition in his name. She returns to New York and opens her own restaurant. Her Japanese boyfriend shows up a year later. |
