Description:Two modern teens (Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon) are magically transported into the black and white TV show Pleasantville. As they bring their modern views into the staid, unchanging world of a 1950s cit-com, things begin to change. Those who "get" the new thinking turn from black and white to color while those who don't fight to keep their way of life. It becomes a civil rights movement — until everybody starts thinking new.

Review - Pleasantville

Good and bad. On the one hand, the modern morals shake some people out of their complacency and sterotypes, but on the other hand they bring a lot of trashy values. I'm sure it's not what the makers of the film had in mind, but it points out the fact that there never has been a perfect time and sin has always been with us.
