Description:Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana) has been a time-traveler ever since the boyhood car accident that killed his mother. He has no control over his jumps, but often returns to the same places. One of those places is a meadow behind the home of Clare Abshire. When they first meet, Clare is eight (or so) and Henry is an adult. He tells her who he is and she believes him. They meet many times over the years until Clare catches up with Henry and meets him in the library where he works. This is the first time he meets her. They get married and deal with the stresses of a husband who often disappears just when he's wanted most. Clare has a string of miscarriages but finally has a little girl, Alba. She is also a time-traveler, but has control over her power. She meets Henry before she's born and tells him of his death. He knows it's coming but can do nothing to stop it. After he dies, he still jumps forward to visit Clare and Alba.

Review - Time Traveler's Wife, The

The characters are great, and I was very much drawn into the drama of their lives. But I couldn't help thinking they took it all a bit more calmly than I would and that they didn't do enough to try to change their fate. Bottom line, it was a very sad movie.
