Description:Tony Rome (Frank Sinatra) is a private detective who is given the job of escorting a drunk heiress home and keeping her name out of the papers. When a diamond pin she was wearing disappears and Tony gets smacked by a couple thugs, he goes looking for the culprit. Turns out the heiresses step-mother is being blackmailed by her first husband from whom she never got a divorce. She'd been replacing her and her daughter's jewels with fakes to get money. Tony kills all the right people but never quite makes it with society dame Ann Archer (Jill St. John) who is in the movie for decoration.

Review - Tony Rome

Complicated and not worth the effort to keep track. The crime involved was unspectacular. Frank Sinatra looks about as much like a tough private eye as my grandmother does. And she's dead.
