Review - Safety Last!
Brilliant. Laugh-out-loud funny in places, and the wall climbing scene was a suspenseful as anything I've seen in a movie.

| Description: | Harold Lloyd plays a young man from Indiana who moves to the city to make his fortune so he can marry the girl back home. He only gets a job as a lowly clerk in a department store, and his meager salary barely pays the rent. He pawns some stuff and buys the girl jewelry so she'll think he's rich. She falls for it and comes to see him. He has to pull off something quick. He arranges a stunt to bring visitors to the store — having his friend climb all 12 stories of the outside of the building. When the day comes, the friend is chased off by a cop and Harold has to climb the building himself. He suffers all sorts of perils, but finally makes it and gets the prize money and the girl. This movie includes the famous scene in which Lloyd clings to the hands of a clock far above the street. |
