Apart from the fact that Molly Ringwald has a sort of sweet likeableness, the movie has nothing to offer.

| Description: | Sophomore Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald)is having a bad day. Her entire family has forgotten that it's her 16th birthday, there's a Chinese exchange student in her bedroom, her big sister is marrying a jerk, some annoying freshman has a crush on her and Jake Ryan, the senior she's in love with, doesn't know she exists. Except by the time the movie is over, he does, and even buys her a birthday cake (after dumping his prom queen girlfriend off on the annoying freshman). |
