Description:Joanna Eberhart (Katherine Ross) moves from NYC to the small community of Stepford with her husband Walter and her two girls. She quickly notices that most of the other women in town all dress and act alike — passive and eager to please their husbands. One exception is her friend Bobbie. Together they attempt to start a woman's-lib movement and, when that fails miserably, to find out what's going on. When Bobbie overnight turns into one of the bland women, Joanna knows something sinister is going on. She tries to take her kids and run but she's too late. Her husband does away with her (we don't see how) and replaces her with a robot version.

Review - Stepford Wives, The

Creepy. And I knew how it would end. And I could never figure out why a man would want to live (and do other stuff) with a robot woman. But still, I couldn't help but root for Joanna to escape even though I knew she wouldn't.
