Description:Lorry (Betty Grable) is popular in the serviceman's canteen in Missouri where she works. She goes to D.C. to be a stenographer. She passes herself off as a Broadway singer and gets involved with Tommy Dooley, a war hero. He gets her a gig in a nightclub, but when one of Lorry's boys shows up claiming to be her fiance, things get muddled. Somehow Lorry resolves the situation by singing a song.

Betty Grable was pregnant during shooting, and it wasn't shot in sequence, so her weight kept very obviously fluctuating, which was weird. There were a lot of dance numbers that had nothing to do with the story and weren't all that spectacular.
