Description:Original French title: Le ballon rouge

On his way to school in Paris, a young boy finds a large red balloon. He takes it to school and then home. His mother tosses it out a window, but it hangs around and waits for him. For the next days, the balloon follows the boy everywhere. Other boys are jealous and steal the balloon. They shoot at it with slingshots and burst it. Hundreds of other balloons from around the city gather around the boy. He grabs the strings and is carried above the roofs of the city.

Review - Red Balloon, The

Cute, but pretty simple, with very little dialogue. The special effects that made the balloon follow the boy were understandably weak (it was made in 1956), but the idea was nice.
