Description:Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) arrives home to find his ex-wife Lenore dead on his bed and the cops on his doorstep. He runs, looking for the killers, while the cops chase him. In the process, he beats up several policemen and destroys police cars. He finds out that a Russian gangster killed his wife and that Lenore's husband Stuart hired them. Stuart owed the Russians money. He found out Lenore was leaving him, so he took out a big insurance policy on her to use the money to pay off the Russians. But if he could get Bryan to kill the Russians and get arrested for it, Stuart could keep the money. When Bryan figures all this out, Stuart kidnaps Bryan's daughter Kim (Maggie Grace). Bryan catches up, beats up Stuart and turns him over to the cops, rescues Kim and, somehow, is OK with the cops in spite of running and beating them up and destroying their stuff and killing a bunch of people.

The idea that someone could charge around L.A. beating up cops and destroying stuff and blowing stuff up and killing people and then be let go because he didn't happen to commit the one crime that started it all ... My other issue was the editing — no shot lasted longer than three seconds. It kept jumping from camera angle to camera angle for no reason like the editor was hopped up on something.
