Reviews for Zandy's Bride
Review - Zandy's Bride
Well acted but slow moving and without much of an ending. Hackman's character is a jerk and never sympathetic enough to root for.

| Description: | Zandy Allen (Gene Hackman) is a lonely, bitter settler on the coast of California. He sends away for a mail-order bride, Hannah (Liv Ullmann). He expects to go on living like a slob and getting his way while his wife makes his life easier. But Hannah won't put up with it. She quietly resists him in every way she can until He finally begins to realize her worth. He gets angry because she won't give him sons, so she sleeps with another woman. Hannah kicks him out. Zandy goes to San Francisco and comes back with presents. Hannah accepts him back and shows him his twins. |
