Description:Rancher Clay Phillips (Robert Sterling) is taking a herd of horses to his ranch with his younger brother Steve (Claude Jarman Jr.). They're pursued by three convicts who have a grudge against Clay for capturing them and sending them to jail years before. Along the way, Clay and Steve happen upon four women dance-hall girls who have been kicked out of town and are trying to make their way to California. Mary (Gloria Grahame) falls for Clay and wants to go to his ranch, but he's conflicted because of her shady past. In the final showdown, Clay manages to kill the bad guys. Steve is shot, but OK. Mary shows up to thank Clay for sending her out of harm's way before the bad guys attacked, and Clay asks her to go with him.

Review - Roughshod

A B western with some good characters. Gloria Grahame and Claude Jarman Jr. are good as the prostitute with a good heart and the young teen who sees her for what she is, even when his big brother struggles to do so.
