Description:Jean (Ida Lupino) is selling oil well supplies for her father's company during WWII. She gets to an army town where there's a big account, but she can't find lodging except in the married-couples quarters. She convinces Lt. Don to pose as her husband long enough to get a room, but things quickly get complicated. Col. Otley (Syndey Greenstreet), Don's C.O. meets the couple and thinks they're married. Then Don's mother and Jean's father show up. Don gets orders to head overseas, but before he goes, he marries Jean after all (even though she's gotten him into this mess and spent most of the ensuing time with the guy from the oil wells, or drunk).

Review - Pillow to Post

I wanted to like the movie, but I couldn't. William Prince, as Don, was wooden and dull. Ida Lupino, as Jean, acted like she was reading off cards that were just off screen and often had the wrong expression on her face for what was happening on screen. There was zero chemistry between the two leads and no reason whatsoever for them to fall for each other. The marriage, when Don gets back from the war, doesn't stand a chance.
