Description:The secretary of movie actor Leroy Dane is found murdered. In her possession were news clippings about a 12-year-old disappearance of an heiress. Detective Tom Alder (David Janssen) decides to investigate. Along the way he meets an old flame (Jeanne Crain, who has nothing to do with the plot but is just around to look pretty) and Nicki (Dina Merril), whom Alder thinks looks familiar. After a bunch of wandering about Alder discovers that Nicki (whom he suddenly remembers he had an affair with in Tokyo) is really the missing heiress. It's even more complicated than that, but the rest isn't worth going into.

Review - Twenty Plus Two

A mess for several reasons. (1) The movie starts in the middle and never really explains why Alder is looking for the heiress. (2) Alder fell in love with the Nicki in Tokyo 12 years before after a brief fling, but then fails to recognize her in L.A.—simply because she died her hair blonde. (3) Jeanne Crain has nothing to do with the plot. (4) I could go on but I won't bother. I liked a lot of the actors and actresses in this, and wanted to like it but just couldn't.
