| Description: | Vicki (Norma Shearer) is a Polish princess who lives by trading on her name to be invited to the homes of rich Americans. She's engaged to be married to Hubert, but at her party she meets Nikki (Melvyn Douglas), an Austrian baron who lives the same way she does. The two fall in love and run off to get married that night. But their appeal isn't so great when the news of their marriage leaks out and soon the money and invitations are gone. When Vicki finds that another woman has designs on Nikki, she divorces him and agrees again to marry Hubert. Meanwhile, Nikki has gotten a legitimate job as an interior designer and shows up to do the work on Vicki and Hubert's home. On the night before her wedding, Vicki dances with Nikki and the two run off yet again and remarry. |
