| Description: | Tommy Farrell (Robert Taylor), lawyer for mob king Rico Angelo (Lee J. Cobb), meets showgirl Vicki Gaye (Cyd Charisse) in a sleazy nightclub. They fall in love and Vicki, in spite of her career, urges Tommy to give up the mob. Rico refuses to let him go. Tommy goes to the D.A. and gives evidence against Rico. Rico kidnaps Vicki and threatens to throw acid in her face. Tommy uses his courtroom tricks to stall until the cops show up. In the great showdown, Rico conveniently manages to dump the acid on his own face and tumble backwards out a window. |
