| Description: | Wartime propaganda about the lives of several workers at an airplane plant at the beginning of WWII. Corky (Dennis Morgan) wants no part of fighting, so he gets a job at an essential industry to avoid the draft. He stays with friend Brad (Jack Carson), a dreamer who is unemployed. Brad's wife Roma (Ann Sheridan) is frustrated and decides to leave Brad. Corky moves in and dates her, which creates a riff between Corky and Brad. Meanwhile, supervisor Jake (George Tobias) is fired from the plant because he's not a U.S. citizen. He gets a job at a diner and, as soon as he qualifies for citizenship, goes back to work at the plant—just in time to find out his pilot son has been killed. Instead of taking time to mourn, Jake rededicates himself to his job. When the war breaks out, Corky does what he can to get Brad and Roma back together, then becomes a pilot and joins the Army Air Force himself. |
