Description:Sgt. Dave Stewart (Dennis Morgan) has a brief layover in his hometown and runs into Janet Wheeler (Eleanor Parker), the girl who used to work at the soda fountain when he was in college. She invites him home for Thanksgiving, they spend the next day together, and then get married on the third day just before he ships out. A month later, they get one more night together before he's sent overseas. Janet has a son. Dave is injured. But in the end, they're back together and happy. As side stories, there's Dave's friend Fixit (Dane Clark) who meets Janet's friend Cora (Faye Emerson). They keep it light and flirtatious during the war but connect afterwards. And there's Janet's sister Molly (Andrea King) whose husband is in the Navy. (They too had a whirlwind romance.) She's not faithful and tries to talk Janet into stepping out with her, but when her sailor boy comes home, she confesses all and he forgives. There's also Janet's father (Henry Travers), a kind man who thinks he's a failure and Janet's mother (Beulah Bondi) who is a jerk but warms up when she meets her grandson. And lastly, there's Janet's kid sister Ellie, who is irrepressibly cute and encouraging.

Review - Very Thought of You, The

Standard wartime propaganda with the usual number of lectures on the importance of the fight, the bravery of those who wait at home, and the need for soldiers to have something at home to look forward to. But there's also a great cast and Morgan and Parker were great in the lead roles, believable and easy to root for.
