Description:Policeman Steve Walsh (David Janssen) and his partner catch three teens who robbed a gas station and stole a car. The girl, Bobbie (Joyce Taylor) has a hidden gun that she gives to Frank (Frank Gorshin), one of the boys, and they take control. They cuff Steve's partner to a tree then force him to drive them in the police car. He convinces them that there's a road block ahead and that their only chance is on foot through the woods. On a couple occasions, Bobbie keeps the boys from killing Steve. They spend a night in the woods, and Bobbie and Steve chat and kiss. Along the way, the other teen tries to push Steve off a cliff and falls to his death. They're finally caught by the sheriff, but they, and the entire town, are soon trapped by a forest fire caused by a cigarette dropped by Frank. Steve gets the idea that he can get people out of town on an old train. Bobbie insists on going along. They get out on a burning trestle and the train stalls. Everyone gets out. Frank tries to escape and falls to his death. Steve promises Bobbie she can make a new start.

Review - Ring of Fire

All sorts of plot holes, too many to list. Why did they make Bobbie 17? If she was just a year or two older, the romance between her and Steve would have worked. And why did they have the 29-year old Joyce Taylor try to play a 17 year old? She certainly didn't look or act 17. It was sorta exciting and stupid at the same time—I was in a certain amount of suspense even while continually saying, "No way that would happen."
