Review - You Can't Fool Your Wife
Lucille Ball had a few good moments, but otherwise it was just silly and essentially plotless.

| Description: | The marriage of Andrew Hinklin (James Ellison) and his wife Clara (Lucille Ball) is in the ruts, largely because they live with Clara's mother, who doesn't like Andrew. When Andrew is given the job of entertaining business client Batty Battincourt, things get worse. Batty likes to party late and chase attractive women. Andrew has to go along, and Clara (with her mother's help) gets the wrong idea and kicks Andrew out. Batty feels bad and confronts Clara, convincing her that she can win Andrew back by pretending to be a glamorous South American beauty at a masquerade party. Things get somewhat complicated when an actual South American beauty shows up wearing the same costume as Clara, but when Clara arrives, Andrew recognizes her immediately. He plays along with the gag and convinces Clara that he's about to cheat on her—with her. She gets mad, but he reveals that he knew it was her all along and still loves her. Then he does what he should have done long before—kick Clara's mother out of the apartment. |
