| Description: | Nanette Carter (Doris Day), heiress, agrees to back a Broadway show in exchange for playing the lead. She needs to get the money from her Uncle Max (S.Z Sakall), but he just lost it all in the stock market crash. To hide the fact, he makes a bet with Nanette that if she can go for 48 hours just saying no to all questions, she can have the money. It gets her into all sorts of hot water, but she manages to win the bet. But Uncle Max doesn't have the money anyway. So Nanette's secretary Pauline (Eve Arden) agrees to marry Max's stockbroker in exchange for the money. Nanette gets to star in the show and marrys one of the interchangeable guys in the movie. |
