Description:Maisie (Ann Sothern) gets a job as secretary for Joe Morton (George Murphy). When Joe finds out Maisie worked on planes during the war, he lets her in on his secret plan to build a revolutionary helicopter. Before long, Maisie and Joe are in love and engaged. But while Joe is trying to sell his copter to a backer, one of his men is working for a rival company that plans on stealing the copter. The daughter of the rival gets in on the scheme by trying to break up Joe and Maisie by inviting Maisie to a fancy party and drugging her to appear drunk. Maisie is embarrassed and disappeared, but Joe still wants her. Meanwhile, his helicopter is stolen. Maisie and Joe's men trace it to a warehouse and steal it back. While the guys are fighting the bad guys, Maisie has to take off by herself in the helicopter. After a harrowing flight across L.A., she manages to set it down just in time for the exhibition to the real backer.

Review - Up Goes Maisie

The plot is maybe a 5 at best. It actually could have been a bit longer to tie up some loose ends. But Ann Sothern, as always, is a riot as Maisie and make the movie.
