| Description: | NFL teammates Billy Clyde (Burt Reynolds) and Shake (Kris Kristofferson) live with Barbara (Jill Clayburgh), daughter of the team owner. They're in the playoffs and eventually win the Super Bowl, but that has little to do with the plot. Shake has been to a weird self-help seminar and insists that Barbara goes too. She pretends to understand, and Shake asks her to marry him. Billy Clyde realizes that he loves her, so he subtly talks down the lifestyle taught in the seminar to Barbara and the risks of marrying someone who doesn't get it to Shake. At the altar, Shake decides he doesn't want to marry Barbara, so she hook sup with Billy Clyde. |
