Description:Sgt. Maj. Charles Coward (Dirk Bogarde) is a British POW in Germany. Wherever he goes, he leads his fellow prisoners in either escaping or sabotaging German equipment. He and his friend, Cpl. Bill Pope (Alfred Lynch) plan a wholesale escape. Coward sneaks into town and gets maps and other documents from resistance fighter Irena (Maria Perschy). On the night of the escape, Maria meets Coward at the train station and tries to help him escape. They agree to meet again after the war. When Coward sees that Irena is about to walk into a trap, he surrenders himself and spends the rest of the war in prison, escaping just at the end with Pope in a firetruck.

Review - Password Is Courage, The

Sort of like The Great Escape meets Hogan's Heroes. There's a lot of humor and not much blood. It's supposedly based on a real person who actually traded places with a Jew in a death camp to save the Jew's life and who managed to escape seven times during the war. I don't know how seriously to take any of it, but it was a fun watch with a pleasant love story attached.
